Cosy nights under the stars in the Vango Microlite 300 sleeping bag

When trekking, climbing or participating in other energetic outdoor activities, a good sleep is hugely important. This is when investing in a high performance sleeping bag makes a world of difference.

At BCH Camping we supply a wide range of camping products from leading brands. We can testify that few products initiate more debate and pondering than the purchase of a sleeping bag! We all love our sleep, but preparing for sleeping outdoors requires more deliberation than is necessary for climbing into bed under a cosy duvet.

One of our most popular sleeping bags is the Vango Microlite 300. For Vango, it is fabulously on brand in bright orange (you’d be hard pushed to lose it, but don’t let us test you!). While it may look cool however, its synthetic insulation technology makes it quite the opposite to sleep in: it’s super-warm and cosy.

The Vango Microlite 300 sleeping bag

The Vango Microlite 300 is a three season sleeping bag, meaning that it is designed for colder nights without frost, but Vango specify this sleeping bag as suitable for temperatures from -2°C to as high as 15°C. For many campers, a three season sleeping bag is considered ideal for all year round use.

Vango’s recycled Polair® Active Eco fabrics provide the innovative technology that makes this sleeping bag such a versatile choice. The Polair® Active Eco 20D (denier) 400T (thread count) Diamond Ripstop polyester outer shell fabric is durable, water resistant and easy to compress. The Polair® Active Eco lining fabric has a tightly woven construction that creates a warm material that is soft to the touch and also water and tear resistant.

The thermal embrace system on the Microlite 300 is an elasticated trilateral construction lining that makes the sleeping bag gently mould to the body, eradicating cold spots but still allowing for freedom of movement.

The Vango Microlite 300 sleeping bag is omega shaped so that it is ergonomically tailored around the head and shoulders. There are zips and seams in the lower section of the sleeping bag to retain the warmth.

When packed down, the Vango Microlite 300 sleeping bag takes up little space in a rucksack at just 19cm wide by 26cm long.

Other features include a thermal reverb which is an aluminimised layer that reflects heat back to the body for increased warmth. There is a full length, two-way auto-lock zip with zip guard that can be operated from inside the sleeping bag to either seal in warmth or provide ventilation. There is also an internal pocket for the convenient storage of small items.

The internal dimensions of the Microlite 300 sleeping bag are:

  • Length 205cm (suggested maximum user height is 190cm / 6ft 2inches)
  • Chest Width 78cm
  • Foot Width 48cm

Part of Vango’s Earth Collection, this product has been made with environmentally friendly fabrics that have been crafted from recycled single-use plastics.
