Put your best foot forward with SCARPA Terra GTX walking boots
Choosing walking footwear is a different experience for different people. Many BCH Camping customers are regular walkers and might therefore own a pair of boots for every terrain, whereas for others it could be an annual or “once in a blue moon” purchase.
Whatever your needs or frequency of changing your walking boots, quality, durability and comfort should be high priorities. For a great walking experience, the SCARPA Terra GTX boot is a firm favourite at BCH Camping.
SCARPA have designed, manufactured and hand-built outdoor footwear since 1938. Scarpa is, in fact, Italian for shoe. The company is seen as a world leader in footwear manufacture and design, and remains family-owned, with its headquarters still located in northern Italy. The SCARPA brand is synonymous with footwear innovation, revolutionary technologies and hand-crafted expertise.
Ideal for fell walking in the UK, the SCARPA Terra is available in men’s and women’s sizes. The soft leather packs a punch for durability and comfort, and the GORE-TEX waterproof membrane makes sure your feet remain dry.
SCARPA updated the popular boot in 2018 with the following improved features:
A pair of women’s SCARPA Terra Lady GORE-TEX weighs an average 1 kg.
For both men and women, the colour of the SCARPA Terra GORE-TEX walking boot is brown.
The GORE-TEX footwear technology makes boots reliably waterproof to keep feet dry and therefore comfortable. The GORE-TEX optimised breathability allows moisture to escape, thereby avoiding the perils of sweaty feet.
GORE-TEX is designed for a wide range of activities. The advantage for walkers is that they can set out on hikes of any distance, under the prospect of changeable weather, knowing that they won’t get wet, sweaty or sore feet. Any technology that can respond to the unpredictable British weather has got to be a winner!
Vibram soles were first used on mountaineering boots, replacing the commonly used leather soles fitted with hobnails or steel studs.
The Vibram Energy ii sole is a rubber outsole with a PU midsole. The sole is made using injection moulding technology that enables the Energy sole to utilise a low rolling resistance tread attached to the comfortable midsole. This provides good traction, cushioning and support on a wide range of terrains.
The term all-rounder comes to mind.
The softness of the SCARPA Terra leather means that the boots are ready to wear straight from the box. Most leather boots require a period of “breaking in”, so if you need to make an urgent walking boot purchase, the SCARPA Terra is the solution.
SCARPA’s HS12 cream is a silicone based cream that adds a protective water repellent finish to your boots if they become damaged by wear and tear, soaking into scuffs to restore the leather. It can be used on full grain, nubuck and oiled leathers, although it may darken some leather finishes. If this happens, the finish can usually be restored using a suede brush.
