Space, versatility and oodles of features: the Coleman Weathermaster 8XL Air Blackout Tent 2021

The flexibility of camping is certainly one of its primary selling points. Being able to pitch in different places, having the option to eat around the campfire if you don’t fancy leaving the campsite and knowing that camping offers great value for money, are all testament to the camping dream.
Another advantage of choosing to camp for your summer holiday is that there are no extra accommodation costs if you decide to add people to the group. The only thing you need to consider is whether you have room to fit them in!
A large family tent is the answer. When you have a full house – or tent - you can use all the bedrooms and your accommodation won’t feel overcrowded. For those holidays when you are not using the full capacity of the tent, the spare bedrooms can be used for additional storage space instead.
An extra large tent covers all bases. The Coleman Weathermaster 8XL Air Blackout Tent 2021 is new for 2021 and is set to become a favourite amongst BCH Camping customers.

The Coleman Weathermaster 8XL Air Blackout Tent 2021

Accommodating up to 8 people, this is the largest of the Weathermaster range of air tents. The FastPitch™ Air technology with six inflatable poles ensures a quick pitch which is particularly handy if you arrive at your campsite in wet weather or you’re trying to look after children while building your temporary home!

Advantages of a tunnel tent

The Coleman Weathermaster 8XL is a tunnel tent. Known for providing extra space, a tunnel tent is made of a long tunnel-like structure (surprise surprise) with a variety of layouts. The benefits of a tunnel tent are ideal for large families or groups:
  • Spacious and comfortable
  • More headroom due to the sides being less sloped than a dome tent
  • Generally considered easier to pitch
  • Suited to most weather conditions
  • Tapered ends offer extra protection from high winds

The Coleman Weathermaster 8XL layout

The three spacious bedrooms, specified as XXL by Coleman, are located at one end of the tent, facing onto two expansive living areas. Zipped bedroom dividers allow for combining two or all three bedrooms if required.
There is a fourth detachable, two-berth bedroom that can be positioned either side of the living space. A vertical front living area wall ensures the internal space can be used to its maximum potential.
A large front porch area extends the living space outdoors and features increased head height for activities under changing weather conditions. For further flexibility, the door of the porch can be fully zipped in to close the porch area against the elements, or fully zipped back to create a large open porch.
There is a side entrance with an eyebrow canopy for access during wet weather.

BlackOut Bedroom® Technology

BlackOut Bedroom technology® blocks up to 99% of daylight from entering the sleeping area, aiding a longer and more restful sleep regardless of what time of day it might be.
Ideal for the height of summer, the BlackOut Bedroom® can keep you up to 5°C cooler during the day, yet up to 1°C warmer during the night. This can be a huge help for families with young children who may struggle to adapt to their new sleeping conditions.

Specifications of the Coleman Weathermaster 8XL Air Blackout Tent

The 68 denier polyester WeatherTec™+ 4500mm Hydrostatic Head flysheet repels water, offering protection against the heaviest of rainfall, while its seams are taped to prevent water from entering through needle holds.
A waterproof, integrated polyethylene groundsheet provides a dry, draught and bug-free environment.
The 70 denier fabric of the tent is fire retardant according to EN5912, ensuring that if it catches fire it will not flare dangerously out of control and will instead self-extinguish.
Breathable polyester has been used for the inner tent fabric.
The large windows are made of PVC with zipped window shades for privacy or to block out the light.
High and low ventilation combine to reduce the risk of condensation within the tent.
A barrier-free access system allows for access in and out of the front of the tent, doing away with annoying trip hazards
Additional features for added comfort and practicality:
