The Rab Firewall jacket is a great performer in summer as well as winter. It can be worn over a wicking t-shirt as a waterproof layer, offering welcome breathability in warmer temperatures.
While Rab say that the Firewall jacket is best for climbing, mountaineering and hill walking, we know from customer feedback that it’s a great all-round, classic shell.
Pertex Shield fabrics are designed with waterproof, windproof and breathable membranes. They are also lightweight, soft and packable. The durable water repellent (DWR) finish of the outer fabric sheds rain, snow and sleet and supports the breathability.
There are 2-way fully venting pit zips that can be opened as little or as much as you like, using YKK AquaGuard zips. The vents enhance the breathability of the jacket by keeping the air flowing when you’re working hard but need to keep going.
For added comfort, the dual-sided rear hem adjustment is activated in a single-handed motion using the hem drawcord.
It takes an easy one-handed adjustment to roll the hood away using the concealed internal cord locks, which is particularly useful when using ropes.
