Leave your shell behind on cold, wet hikes and winter adventures. The Rab Microlight Shield Jacket combines the insulation of a down jacket with the weather protection of a waterproof shell, eliminating the need to carry both. The Microlight has always been a massive seller for us, but this is a massive improvement with it's 100% waterproof outer, and we have no doubt that this jacket is going to be very popular this season.Â
Built with a 2-layer Pertex® Shield waterproof outer that stands up to the elements without adding bulk, this jacket delivers serious protection without compromise. The 700FP down fill is positioned in strategically sized baffles—larger panels for core warmth, smaller sections under the arms—to maximise heat retention while minimising weight and restricting movement. The result is a jacket that moves with you across exposed ridges, technical terrain, and changeable mountain conditions.
Engineered for longevity, the Microlight Shield features durable, repairable construction designed to last through seasons of adventure. Compact enough to pack when temperatures drop, versatile enough to layer, and tough enough to handle whatever the British winter throws at it.
Essential for alpinists, winter backpackers, and anyone who refuses to choose between warmth and weather resistance.
